ABOUT
Karnataka Rajya Bennuhuri Apaghatada Angavikalara Sangha (KRBAAS) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 by people affected with Spinal Cord Injury. The primary focus of KRBAAS is to support men affected with spinal cord injury. It is one of the four organizations in Karnataka that works in the area of spinal cord injury. KRBAAS has the expertise and experience in providing in-house rehabilitation using specially designed equipment. KRBAAS is located in Magadi, Ramanagara district and is currently working in 10 districts of Karnataka – Ramanagara, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Chithradurga, Kolar, Tumkur, Mysuru, Hassan, and Chikkaballapura, Chikkamangaluru . We work for rehabilitation in Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Centers (SRC) and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR)- Strenthening the Community Based Organization- SCBO

INTRODUCTION
Success Story -1
INTRODUCTION
Sudeep is a 31-year-old, he plays a very important role in his family, he is the Main Person that earns money to support the whole family. He is living with Mother, Brother, and sister in law. He was from Kanuganahalli Village, KR Nagar Taluk, Mysore District. Brother is a Farmer and family is also engaged in agricultural work. His hobbies are swimming, cycling, climbing a tree. He has completed Primary school in his Native, and he later dropout education. He was physically fit like others. He was 24 years old when he met with a fall from a coconut tree. He was unconscious could not move lower limbs with the spinal cord injury accidents, he becomes bedridden. He soon lost his hope, desire to live but the Family had not lost hope and had an admitted him to Krishna Raja Hospital at Mysore. The Treatment was not helpful, after 14 days at a local hospital, there was no obvious improvement, and they had spent a lot of money but had lost hope.
INTERVENTION
After the recommendation of the Karnataka Rajya Bennuhuri Apagatada Angavikalara Sanga® (KRBAAS) Fieldworker visited his home and convinced to take 20 days of SRC. The family admitted him on 1st-may-2017. He was admitted at the Magadi Social Rehabilitation Centre (SRC). He was regular with his Therapy and Learnt all the Activity of Daily Living skills(ADLs) without any assistance, Livelihood training, Recreational Games for persons with Spinal cord injuries(PWSCI’S) try to Motivate accessibility support on home-based, and was counseled and given Mobility aids to then it’s given him confidence to lead on independent life.
OUTCOMES
After discharge, he was admitted to JSS Hospital at Mysore. KRBAAS became a role model in K R Nagar Taluk; he refers some patients to KRBAAS Rehabilitation Centre. Through the KRBAAS Advocacy, he got 3% grants from the gram Panchayath, and he also got Governments schemes home level accessibility (Toilet and Parallel bars). Then he started own Pigeon Farming and Sheep Farming, this improved his economic states and he became Independent.
CONCLUSION
The family feedback was the support of KRBAAS was appreciated, this has given them hope and aspiration, they have appreciated the love, care, affection, and support, his family is very happy to see him confident. He also very happy and made new friends and he is today independent to face life.
Success Story -2
Hanumanthraju is a 32-year-old. He plays a very important role in his family, he is the bread earner of the family. He is living with his wife and children, he is from Kulavanahalli (village), Nelamangala (Taluk), Bangalore (District). He was a driving background, and his family was also a daily wage worker. When he was 30 years old. He met with an RTA (Road Traffic Accident), he damaged his Spinal cord and he became bedridden and soon lost his hope desire to live, He was admitted to Bowring Hospital at Bangalore the Treatment was not helpful.
After the KRBAAS Intervention to take Social Rehabilitation center (SRC). After the admitted rehabilitation at Magadi (v) Ramanagara (D) He was regular with his Therapy and Learnt all the Activity of Daily Living Skills (ADLS) without any Assistance. Try to motivate Accessibility supported on Home-based and was counseled and given Mobility aids. They give him the confidence to lead an independent life.
Through the KRBAAS Advocacy he got 3% grants from the Gram Panchayath. Currently, he is working has a self-employee driver with Modified Auto. Family feedback KRBAAS support was appreciated, this has given them hoped and aspiration.

Title of Job: - Program Manager - APPI Reporting to: - Program Director The Purpose of the job is to: - To lead a team of Direct Field Staff (DFS) and successfully achieve the results of the APPI – KRBAAS Community Based Organization (CBO) Program as per the Grant Milestones set under the Grant Agreement. The Duties and Responsibilities are: ● To focus on CBO work like District level Meeting, Advocacy efforts, Training and leadership building etc at the Taluk/ District Level identified under the agreement. ● To strengthen the federation activities by Networking with other Organizations, Hospitals & Govt. Departments. ● Develop and publish the CBO program and activity at identified Taluk/ District level. ● Ensure that the client/ stakeholder data collected and maintained confidentially. ● Counselling, Educating and Developing Teams/Groups and strengthen Voluntarism at the grassroots level. Creating awareness on Spinal Cord Injury & their Rights in the community. ● Organizing the Capacity Building Training & Awareness building Rally’s. ● Accompany DFS from time to time during door to door visits for Identification & Follow up of clients. ● Support the Program Director to prepare required reports on a regular basis (Weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly, etc.) ● Support the Program Director to prepare presentations to all relevant stake holders and help in presenting the same. ● Leading, Guiding, Directing and Motivating DFS on a regular basis. ● Support the Program Director to monitor budget spend is as per program objective and alert all stakeholders in case any deviations/ discrepancies are noticed. ● Actively participate in Program evaluation process and provide inputs to improve the overall effectiveness of the Program. Desired Candidate Profile: a) Demonstrated skills in leadership, program management and team management b) Ability to work independently while at the same time being a team player e) Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in written, oral and presentation skills in English and Kannada. f) Ability and willingness to travel min 5 days a month g) Sound knowledge of computer applications. h) Passionate about working for social causes and making an impact in the social sector.
